After nearly 200 years of evolutionist indoctrination, Christians these days often struggle to accept the literal Word of God. They have been taught from childhood that ‘science’ has all the answers; that science ‘proves’ the world is old and that the theory of evolution is really fact. These so-called ‘facts’ run contrary to what the Bible says - therefore the Bible must be wrong because ‘science’ must always be right!
The well-known creationist writer and teacher Ken Ham was told that the Bible was not a science textbook. ‘I’m glad it’s not’, he said. ‘Science textbooks keep changing. What is right one week is often wrong the next. But the Bible, God’s inspired word, never changes!’
We have all been taught that evolution is ‘scientific’ and creationism is ‘religion’. Neither description is true. Creationism and evolution(ism) are both faiths. Neither can be proven scientifically. One declares that all of life is the work of a creator God, the other that God does not exist.
Science cannot prove that God does not exist.
Creationists and evolutionists look at the same evidence but with different fundamental assumptions. The creationist believes(assumes) that God is real and that His word is true. A creationist will look to understand the evidence by first trusting that God made everything and that, therefore, there should be obvious indications of design and purpose in the natural (created) world.
The evolutionist believes that God is either does not exist, or that His word is untrustworthy and requires man’s interpretation. The evolutionist believes (assumes) that all life came about purely by accident over an unimaginably long time. He has no evidence for this that can be tested scientifically, and no supernatural testament to support his belief (faith). The evolutionists must, therefore, invent theories of how life came about. This they do with a fervour, ingenuity and a persuasiveness that can be very hard to resist.
No matter how persuasive an evolutionist argument may seem, a Christian must always remember that evolutionary ideas originally came about to justify a denial of the existence of God. If life could come about by accident then there would be no need for God. Man could be master of his own fate and not have to answer to anyone for the way he behaves or the decisions he takes.
I do not doubt that the theory of evolution will soon be revealed as one of the greatest deceptions ever to afflict the human race. That it is no less than a satanic deceit designed to lure men away from God and to their inevitable destruction.
